My client wanted an accent wall in the basement…awesome! The basement makeover continues…let the carpenter creative juices flow alongside client. We decided to do a stone tile wall. A home improvement extraordinaire!
Heres the process on this one!
First step: client selects the stone tile from the supplier. Next, I carefully measure out the wall and work from bottom to the top to ensure I finished with a full row. A 2 x 6 was screwed into the wall to act as a starting point for the tiles to rest on. Then the tiling begins!
When tiling, it is important to work neatly and not create messes with the thin set mortar. It is better to mix small batches of the thin set to ensure the mortar does not cure in the bucket. I use a wet saw to make final cuts and cut around electrical boxes. No spacers required for this tile job! Remodelling requires attention to detail and precision and this stone tile wall is no exception.
The custom basement renovation continues in Burlington.
