The style of the new space is a custom front entry locker style storage area for everything traditionally kept in a closet.
Fed up with the old sliding mirrored closet doors? Is the door always falling off the track? Is the closet area crammed with no space and a complete mess? This family of 4 found the closet was definitely not working for working for them in looks and functionality. The custom entry style locker storage area designed by Wilkes Works is sure to be winner!
I came up with an idea. A locker style front door storage. Think kindergarten cubbies. Oh so simple and functional with loads of curb side appeal. The bench offers space for up to 2 people to sit and do up shoes/boots. Underneath the bench there is a tonne of storage space individually split up into four sections so everyone can claim their own shoe/boot storage space. The access door is self closing, a feature that the client wanted so their kitty doesn’t jump in and get caught in there. The door doesn’t have to be that way, it is always the client’s choice.
The top portion of the bench has 4 separate lockers for each family member. Each section includes coat hooks and a top shelf for putting hats, mitts, outside gear etc.
I constructed it out of 5/8 plywood for durability and painted it white for the “wow factor”.
