Wilkes Works sure enjoyed renovating this gently used deck. Call me for your next deck builder adventure! This previous client in Oakville wanted the deck to remain wooden keeping the original framing. This of course was no problem! I began demolition by removing the deck top. I inspected the original framing to make sure it was a solid foundation. I repaired some areas as necessary with client approval. I was happy to install a brand new deck top for these folks.
The renovated deck has both a new handrail and set of stairs. My friends in Oakville originally chose cedar decking but due to lumber costs, went with pressure treated wood instead. Looking ahead to the fall…it looks like I will be back in Oakville. The client has requested their deck to be stained to ensure longevity. This deck renovation project has been an outdoor carpentry project I have really enjoyed. Custom deck building is a great way to make a living!
