Hi everyone! Welcome back to the continued transformation of a Burlington basement. I have completed the drywall, mudding, sanding, priming and painting of the basement. Now onto flooring! It is important to ensure that the surface being worked on is level and flat to ensure longevity. This is the case for all flooring including tiling, hardwood flooring, and lament flooring. This procedure ensures the protecting of your investment and a sound foundation.

How do you level the basement floor?
The first step is to make sure the floor is clean. The next step if using self leveller cement, is to prime the cement floor. Self leveller can also be applied to sub flooring or tiling. Self leveller is a watery cement based material that when poured on surface area, finds areas that need levelling such as hollows in the cement. This procedure requires a two to four day waiting period to ensure proper drying. Once dry…viola!…you are already to lay your lament flooring! Installation of the laminate flooring is next……stay tuned.
